Do we have a 2007 schedule yet for the vimbar matches? Since I work saturdays it helps to schedule as far in advance as possible. Thanks, Ken.

I thought the sniper match in September was great. My only suggestion would be to include some targets at closer ranges, maybe 500-600 yds. Shooting out to 1000-1200 yds is fun, but many of us don't have the facility to sight in or practice at that kind of distance.

Any news on a sniper match? Still need to build a makeup but I think I've found a good (as in cheap) setup. I work most saturdays but can get em off on short notice
if nobody else has plans.

Subject:Sniper Match?

We are thinking of starting a sniper match. Acceptable rifles would be the same as in our ViMBAR match, but equipped with a fixed power scope of 6X or less (we'll call these "makeup" sniper rifles). The shooter could also use an original equipment sniper rifles such as the 91/33s available now, a Swedish, or Swiss sniper rifle. We had an experimental match during our September ViMBAR match with two original rifles and two makeup rifles. Results seemed to be similar amongst all the rifles, so there doesn't appear to be any advantage or disadvantage with either type.

What are your opinions and/or suggestions ?

Regards,
Denny
